State-Level Probe Ordered Into Five Years of Development Works in Papurna Gram Panchayat

A major administrative action has surfaced regarding development works carried out over the last five years in Gram Panchayat Papurna, which falls under the Khetri Panchayat Samiti of Jhunjhunu district. Following an order issued by the Additional District Programme Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Jhunjhunu under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme, panic has spread within the panchayat administration. According to the order, all works executed under MGNREGA, FFC, and SFC funds in Gram Panchayat Papurna will now undergo a state-level investigation. Sources reveal that the action has been initiated under the directions of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Jaipur. The departmental order clearly states that a state-level inquiry committee has been constituted to investigate all development works undertaken in the gram panchayat during the past five years. The investigation team has been instructed to obtain all related records immediately. Significantly, orders have also been issued to keep the concerned IDs of Gram Panchayat Papurna suspended until the completion of the inquiry. Due to this, panchayat-level payments and online administrative processes are likely to be affected. Additional District Programme Coordinator Kailash Chandra Yadav, while directing the Development Officer of Khetri Panchayat Samiti, instructed that all records be made available to the inquiry committee without delay and that the IDs related to FFC and SFC funds remain blocked until the investigation concludes. According to sources, complaints regarding development works in the panchayat had been surfacing for a long time. The matter eventually reached higher authorities, forcing the constitution of a state-level inquiry committee. Following the issuance of the order, discussions have intensified across the panchayat area. Villagers are now expecting major revelations from the investigation. Administrative circles are also viewing the action as highly serious, as state-level inquiry committees are generally formed only when complaints appear prima facie substantial. Now, all eyes are fixed on the investigation report.
