Editorial Policy

Last Updated: 15 July, 2026

IndiaKhabar is committed to publishing accurate, fair, timely and responsible journalism. This Editorial Policy explains the standards followed by our editors, reporters, writers and contributors.

1. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently and are not controlled by advertisers, sponsors, political organisations, business interests or other external parties.

Advertising relationships do not influence the selection, writing, editing or presentation of news content.

2. Accuracy and Verification

We make reasonable efforts to verify information before publication. Depending on the nature of the story, verification may include:

  • Reviewing official records, statements and documents.
  • Contacting relevant individuals or organisations.
  • Comparing information from multiple reliable sources.
  • Checking dates, names, figures, quotations and locations.
  • Reviewing available images, videos and digital evidence.

Breaking news may be updated as additional verified information becomes available.

3. Fairness and Balance

We aim to present relevant facts and perspectives fairly. Where a report contains allegations, criticism or disputed claims, we make reasonable efforts to seek a response from the concerned person or organisation.

A response may be added later if it is not available before publication.

4. Sources and Attribution

Information obtained from other publishers, agencies, official sources, public records or press materials is attributed whenever appropriate.

Anonymous sources may be used only when there is a legitimate editorial reason, such as protecting a source from risk. Editors should make reasonable efforts to verify information provided by anonymous sources.

5. Originality and Plagiarism

IndiaKhabar does not knowingly publish plagiarised material. Writers and contributors must not copy substantial portions of another publisher's work without permission or proper attribution.

Quotations, data and third-party materials must be used lawfully and credited where required.

6. Opinions and Analysis

Opinion articles, columns, commentary and analysis may reflect the views of their respective authors. Such content should be distinguishable from factual news reporting.

Publication of an opinion does not necessarily mean that IndiaKhabar endorses that opinion.

7. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools may be used to assist with research, transcription, translation, formatting, summarisation or drafting. However, content intended for publication must be reviewed by a human editor or responsible team member.

We do not publish AI-generated news without editorial review. Editors are responsible for checking accuracy, context, clarity and compliance with this policy before publication.

8. Images, Videos and Captions

Images and videos should not be altered in a way that materially misleads readers. Illustrations, representational images or file photographs should be identified where necessary.

Captions should accurately describe the material and provide relevant attribution where available.

9. Sensitive Content

We aim to handle reports involving children, victims, sexual offences, suicide, violence, communal matters and personal tragedy with care and sensitivity.

Names, images or identifying details may be withheld where required by law, safety concerns or responsible journalistic practice.

10. Sponsored and Promotional Content

Sponsored, paid, promotional or partner content will be labelled in a manner that helps readers distinguish it from independent editorial reporting.

Advertisers and sponsors do not receive the right to alter unrelated editorial coverage.

11. Conflicts of Interest

Editors, reporters and contributors should disclose relevant personal, professional or financial interests that may affect, or appear to affect, their reporting.

Where necessary, assignments may be reassigned or disclosures may be included in the published content.

12. Corrections and Updates

Material factual errors should be corrected promptly after verification. Articles may also be updated or clarified when significant new information becomes available.

Readers can learn more through our Corrections Policy .

13. Fact Checking

Claims that are disputed, significant or capable of causing public harm may receive additional verification before publication.

Our verification approach is explained in the Fact Check Policy .

14. Reader Feedback and Complaints

Readers may report errors, raise editorial concerns or provide feedback. We review genuine complaints and take appropriate action where necessary.
