Corrections Policy

Last Updated: 15 July, 2026

IndiaKhabar is committed to accuracy, transparency and accountability. When we identify a material error in published content, we aim to correct it promptly and clearly.

1. What We Correct

We may issue a correction, clarification or update when published content contains:

  • An incorrect name, date, figure, location or quotation.
  • A factual statement that is materially inaccurate.
  • Information presented without necessary context.
  • A misleading headline, caption or image description.
  • An attribution error.
  • A significant omission that affects the meaning of the report.

2. Types of Changes
Correction

A correction is made when a factual error is confirmed and the published information needs to be changed.

Clarification

A clarification may be added when the original content is not factually incorrect but could be misunderstood or requires additional context.

Update

An update may be added when new, verified information becomes available after publication.

Retraction or Removal

Content may be withdrawn or removed in exceptional circumstances, such as serious factual failure, legal necessity, safety concerns or proven copyright infringement.

3. How Corrections Are Displayed

Where practical, material corrections will be reflected directly in the article. A correction or update note may also be added to explain what was changed.

Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or typographical changes that do not alter the meaning of an article may be corrected without a separate note.

4. Headline and Social Media Corrections

If an error appears in a headline, caption or social-media post, we may correct or replace it when possible.

Where a misleading post has been widely distributed, we may publish a clarification or correction through the same platform.

5. Reporting an Error

Readers may report a possible error by providing:

  • The URL of the relevant article.
  • The headline or publication date.
  • The exact statement believed to be incorrect.
  • A brief explanation of the concern.
  • Reliable supporting evidence or source links, where available.

6. Review Process

Correction requests are reviewed by the editorial team. We may:

  1. Review the published article and available records.
  2. Check the original source material.
  3. Contact the writer, reporter or relevant party.
  4. Compare the claim with reliable evidence.
  5. Decide whether a correction, clarification, update or no change is required.

We aim to handle genuine and well-supported correction requests promptly, although complex matters may require additional verification.

7. Right of Reply

Individuals or organisations directly affected by a report may submit a factual response or request clarification.

IndiaKhabar may publish, summarise or incorporate a relevant response after editorial review. We are not required to publish abusive, promotional, irrelevant or unsupported submissions.

8. Disagreement With Editorial Judgment

A difference of opinion does not necessarily mean that an article contains a factual error. Requests based only on disagreement with analysis, commentary or editorial judgment may not result in a correction.

However, factual claims within opinion or analysis content remain subject to correction where an error is confirmed.

9. Legal and Privacy Requests

Requests involving defamation, privacy, court restrictions, identity protection or other legal concerns will be reviewed carefully.

Content will not normally be removed only because it is inconvenient or unfavourable where it is accurate, lawful and in the public interest.

10. Archived Content

Published articles may remain available as part of the historical record. Where necessary, an update or correction may be added rather than removing the original article.
